This page is being updated on a daily basis! I'll be adding a second page to help same time as the photo's take some time to load.

Built Using West System Epoxy Products

This is my insulated epoxy garage. it gets cold up here in the Michigan so this helps things flow better. I'm using 105 epoxy, 205 hardner, and 404 high density and 410 microlight fillers for most of the project.

Stringers and starboard side already glued in place, the port side clamped and glued.

A look from the stern, did I mention the boat gets built upside down until the bottom is on?

The starboard side being layed up. You'll probably noticed how many clamps and how much tape is involved in this part of the build.

Finally, the boat is off the jig and right side up. The bow is starting to take it's shape, the inside is ready to be coated with epoxy, and fillets are going to be added for extra strength. Fiberglass will be added also in the engine and radio compartments since there are no stringers in these areas.

Next up, pool noodles are added in the bow, the deck tabs are in place. and some supports have been added to the side deck to help when being launched with one hand. The side supports are not part of the kit.

Finally found some time to build a boat stand.

The Zippkit Crackers framework and jig, the jig makes building a snap! The jig is thin plywood with slots for the tabs of the bulkheads. Jig is clamped to a 3/4" thick plywood base to keep things flat.

Here's my home made hydraulic bench. The only thing not wood and epoxy is the hydraulic unit (from a barber chair) and the nuts & bolts.

Dry fitting the starboard side bottom, remember, upside down!

IMG_8311.JPG.jpg

It's starting to look like a boat! Sorry I didn't take a pic of the port side being set up.

Cracker3.jpg

The rear hatch and radio box completed and in the process of being coated with epoxy. The radio box comes with the kit or can be purchased seperately if a different boat needs one.

Here is a better look at the deck tabs and extra support on the engine compartment. The wood for the extra support came from left over wood from the cnc cutouts.

The deck glued together and the bottom of the deck is coated with epoxy. Almost ready to be joined with the hull!
