Crackerbondage2.jpg

This kind of looks like some sort of boat bondage, but this was the easiest way to get the deck glued on. Lots of duct tape and several clamps go a long way.

Inside the engine compartment. The engine mounts and gas bag mounts are installed.

The hardware pre-fitted and ready for the next step. I'll be over drillingl the holes and filling them with epoxy, then re-drilling so water does not get to the wood.

Yikes! It Looks like a rat got my cracker! This is the over drilling I had mentioned. This works great for wood boats or wood transoms on glass boats.

The boat standing on it's nose. It's sitting on a towel on the floor. I had to fill the holes one more time to get the epoxy to get level with the wood. You can see the skeg mounted in the hull.

The deck is on and you'll notice some dark spots on it. This is 410 microlight filler to make things line up better. I'm also working on a engine cowl, not sure if it's legal for IMPBA, but I'll have one anyway.

My make shift hatch built with scraps from the kit with the rear hatch in the background ready to get faired.

The engine and stuffing tube are glassed in place. The instructions say to heat the tube to bend it, I put the shaft in the tube so the tube is sturdy and doesn't get kinked. No need for heat.

The holes filled with epoxy, this was done by setting the boat on it's nose.

Above is how I mounted the radio box. It was done by glueing two strips to the hull and two on the sides of the radio box. The hull strips were overdrilled and filled with epoxy and then inserting the hex bolts. When it cures you have a strong tread!
